The primary goal of any successful dental laboratory is to provide
the doctor with the highest quality product possible. Opus One realizes
the necessity and we believe that the key to a successful case is
proper planning; this ensures that both the doctor and patient’s
expectations are met and, more importantly, that the expectations
are realistic. One of the primary components of case planning is
proper communication. Opus One believes that this is essential on
both ends, from the laboratory and the doctor. One-on-one collaboration
of the dentist and the laboratory ensures that the desired results
are achieved. The following suggestions will serve to provide for
the best possible case results:
- Plan to treat both posterior and anterior functions to maintain
and protect longevity of teeth.
- Maintain centric relation and centric occlusion and respect
correct anterior guidance in posteriors. Insure correct inter
cusp relation and proper dis-occlusion.
- Consider tissue architecture.
- Use a white wax up for temporary evaluation and get patient
approval for shape, incisal edge position and length.
- List patient desires and concerns.
- Mount case using a face bow or John Kois Facial Analyzer.
